This 4-flute solid carbide square end mill features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, engineered for high‑hardness milling applications up to HRC 65. The AlTiN coating provides exceptional heat resistance (up to 800°C) and extreme surface hardness, enabling efficient machining of hardened tool steels, die steels, and wear‑resistant alloys. The extra‑length design (92mm overall, 42mm flute length) allows deeper reach in cavities and deep slots.
The 16mm cutting diameter has a straight shank of equal diameter for maximum rigidity. With 4 flutes, this end mill delivers excellent surface finishes on side walls and bottom surfaces, suitable for finishing and semi‑finishing passes. The optimized spiral flute geometry ensures smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces, even in high‑speed machining.
Typical applications include hardened steel molds (HRC 55‑65), die casting tools, aerospace components, and high‑wear machine parts.
