Product Specifications:
This TiAlN-coated solid carbide twist drill is a versatile solution for both non-ferrous and ferrous materials. The TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating offers excellent heat resistance (up to 800°C) and low friction, making it suitable for high-speed drilling in aluminum alloys, as well as hardened steels up to HRC 68, stainless steel, and cast iron. The 16.8mm cutting diameter with a 73mm flute length and 123mm overall length provides efficient chip evacuation for medium-depth holes.
The straight shank (18mm) fits standard hydraulic and collet chucks. The jobber-length design balances rigidity and reach for general-purpose drilling on CNC machining centers and milling machines. When drilling aluminum, the sharp edge geometry and TiAlN coating minimize built-up edge (BUE), resulting in cleaner holes. For steel applications, the coating's heat resistance allows higher cutting speeds and extended tool life.
Typical applications include aluminum extrusions, automotive parts, mold bases, and structural steel components. Custom lengths, shank configurations, and alternative coatings (AlCrN, DLC) are available for OEM orders. For workshops handling both aluminum and steel, this versatile carbide drill delivers consistent performance across material types.
Solid carbide drills for automotive manufacturing deliver high precision, excellent wear resistance, and high cutting speeds. Ideal for engine cylinders, oil/cooling holes, transmission housings, brake systems, and e‑motor components.
