This HSSE-PM (powder metallurgy) spiral flute tap is designed for high-performance threading in medium to heavy-duty applications. The powder metallurgy process delivers a homogeneous, ultra-fine grain structure, providing superior wear resistance and edge retention compared to conventional HSS or HSSE. The 15° spiral angle ensures efficient chip evacuation in blind holes, while the 3‑flute design reduces cutting forces and improves thread quality.
The M12x1.25 size features a total length of 100mm and working length of 22mm, making it ideal for blind holes in automotive components, hydraulic blocks, and heavy machinery parts. The TiN coating (gold) reduces friction, increases surface hardness, and improves tool life in abrasive materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel (e.g., 304, 316), and ductile cast iron.
Compared to standard HSSE taps, HSSE‑PM offers up to 35% longer tool life in high-speed machining, particularly in interrupted cuts and difficult-to-machine alloys.
