This HSSE-CPM (Powder Metallurgy) spiral flute tap is engineered for high-precision threading in demanding applications. The powder metallurgy process produces a uniform, fine-grained microstructure with superior wear resistance and toughness compared to conventional HSS or even standard HSSE. The 15° spiral flute angle ensures efficient chip evacuation in blind holes, while the 3-flute design provides balanced cutting action and improved thread finish.
Manufactured to DIN geometry standards, this M10x1.25 tap features an overall length of 83mm, ideal for through-hole and medium-depth blind hole tapping on lathes and CNC machines. The uncoated surface allows for application-specific coating (TiN, TiAlN) to be added later per customer request. Typical materials include carbon steels, alloy steels, stainless steels (up to 300 series), aluminum alloys, and cast iron.
Compared to standard HSSE taps, HSSE-CPM offers up to 30% longer tool life in high-speed machining and better resistance to chipping in interrupted cuts. Custom shank lengths, special thread forms, and left-hand versions are available for OEM orders.
