This AlTiN‑coated solid carbide drill bit offers an excellent balance between reach and rigidity with its 5×D flute length (40mm). The 8mm diameter and 72mm overall length make it a versatile tool for drilling moderate‑depth holes in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The AlTiN coating (bronze) provides high heat resistance (up to 800°C) and low friction, significantly extending tool life compared to uncoated carbide.
The 140° point angle reduces cutting forces on entry and minimizes work hardening – particularly beneficial for stainless steel and high‑temperature alloys. With a recommended cutting speed of 60‑100 m/min and feed of 0.12‑0.20 mm/rev, this drill performs well on CNC machining centers and milling machines. While it does not feature through‑coolant holes, the 30° helix and polished flutes effectively evacuate chips when used with high‑pressure external coolant or mist.
