This AlTiN‑coated solid carbide twist drill is designed for precision drilling in a wide range of ferrous materials. The 6mm diameter with 30mm flute length (5×D) offers a good reach‑to‑diameter ratio, suitable for moderately deep holes without excessive deflection. The 140° point angle reduces thrust force on entry and minimizes work hardening, which is especially valuable when drilling stainless steel or heat‑treated alloys.
The ultra‑fine grain carbide substrate (HRA 92) combined with the AlTiN coating provides excellent wear resistance and can run at higher cutting speeds (60‑90 m/min) than standard HSS drills. Recommended feed rate: 0.10‑0.16 mm/rev. Because this drill does not feature internal coolant channels, use high‑pressure external coolant or mist to clear chips effectively. The 30° helix and polished flutes aid chip evacuation in depths up to 4.5×D (27mm) without pecking.
