This HSSE spiral point tap is designed for high‑productivity through‑hole threading in metric coarse threads M12x1.75. The TiN coating provides low friction and high surface hardness, while the HSSE substrate (with cobalt) offers superior heat resistance for longer tool life at high cutting speeds. The spiral point (gun) geometry projects chips forward through the hole, eliminating chip packing and enabling continuous tapping cycles – ideal for CNC machining centers, tapping machines, and lathes.
The M12x1.75 tap features a total length of 89mm and a working length of 25mm, with a 6H tolerance class for standard metric internal threads. Its 3‑flute construction balances chip clearance and core strength. This tap is not recommended for blind holes because chips are forced forward, which would pack at the bottom. Common applications include automotive components, mechanical fasteners, and general engineering parts requiring M12 coarse threads.
