This HSSE spiral flute tap features a 35° spiral angle, providing excellent chip evacuation for medium-deep blind holes. The 35° angle actively lifts chips upward, preventing packing in blind holes up to 2.5× diameter depth. The 4‑flute design reduces cutting load per flute and improves chip splitting, making it suitable for larger diameter threads like M18.
The M18x1.5 tap has an overall length of 110mm and a working length of 25mm, optimized for medium-depth blind holes in carbon steel, alloy steel (4140, 4340), stainless steel (304, 316), cast iron, and aluminum alloys. Uncoated HSSE offers good wear resistance and toughness for general-purpose machining. For higher speeds or abrasive materials, TiCN or TiAlN coatings can be applied upon request.
Typical applications include heavy machinery components, hydraulic cylinders, industrial gearboxes, and large threaded holes in structural parts.
