Product Specifications:
This A30 HSSE spiral flute tap is designed for large-diameter threading in heavy-duty applications. The A30 grade (high-cobalt powder metallurgy) provides excellent red hardness and wear resistance, suitable for demanding materials. The 4‑flute design reduces cutting load per flute and improves chip splitting, while the 15° spiral angle ensures efficient chip evacuation in blind holes. With an overall length of 125mm and working length of 25mm, it is optimized for medium-depth blind holes in large components.
The M22x1.5 tap is commonly used in heavy machinery, large hydraulic cylinders, wind turbine components, shipbuilding, and industrial gearboxes. It performs well in carbon steel, alloy steel (4140, 4340), stainless steel (304, 316), cast iron, and aluminum alloys. Although supplied uncoated, TiN or TiAlN coatings can be applied upon request to reduce friction and extend tool life in abrasive materials like stainless steel and cast iron.
Custom options include alternative coatings (CrN, AlCrN), left‑hand flutes, reduced shank diameters, and special thread tolerances (6HX, 4H). For high-volume production of large threads, this A30 HSSE tap delivers consistent performance and reliable thread quality.
HSSE taps for mechanical manufacturing offer enhanced tool life, high heat resistance, and precision threading. Ideal for transmission parts, bearing housings, pumps, valves, and fasteners.
