This HSSE spiral point tap is specially engineered for high‑productivity through‑hole threading in stainless steel (304, 316) and other austenitic grades. The green ring marking identifies an optimized geometry and metallurgy for stainless steel, reducing work hardening and galling. The TiN coating provides low friction and high wear resistance, while the spiral point (gun) design projects chips forward through the hole, eliminating chip packing and enabling continuous tapping at high speeds – ideal for CNC lathes and machining centers.
The M8x1.25 tap features an overall length of 80mm and working length of 22mm, with a 6H tolerance class for precise fit. The HSSE substrate (with cobalt) offers superior red hardness, maintaining cutting edge integrity even during high‑speed operations. Its 3‑flute construction balances strength and chip clearance. Do not use this tap for blind holes; chips are forced forward, which would pack at the bottom.
