Product Specifications:
This M35 HSSE spiral flute tap is specifically engineered for threading difficult-to-machine materials such as titanium alloys (Ti-6Al-4V), carbon fiber composites, and heat-resistant stainless steels. The M35 grade contains 5% cobalt, providing improved red hardness and wear resistance over standard HSS, while maintaining good toughness to resist chipping in abrasive composites. The 15° spiral angle ensures efficient chip evacuation in blind holes, and the 3‑flute design balances chip space and core strength.
The M10x1.25 tap has an overall length of 83mm and a working length of 18mm, optimized for medium-depth blind holes in aerospace components, medical implants, and composite structures. The uncoated substrate offers good performance in titanium and composites; however, TiN or TiAlN coatings can be applied upon request to further reduce friction and improve heat dissipation in high-speed titanium machining.
Typical applications include aircraft structural parts, engine mounts, medical prostheses, and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) assemblies. Custom options include left‑hand flutes, reduced shank diameters, and special thread tolerances. For demanding materials where standard taps fail prematurely, this M35 HSSE tap offers superior tool life and thread quality.
Spiral flute taps are ideal for blind holes (chip evacuation upward), while spiral point taps are best for through holes.Read full guide →
