Product Specifications:
This HSSE A23 spiral flute tap is manufactured from powder metallurgy high-speed steel, offering a fine, uniform carbide structure for enhanced wear resistance and toughness. The A23 grade provides an excellent balance between hardness and strength, making it suitable for a wide range of general-purpose threading applications. The 15° spiral angle ensures reliable chip evacuation in blind holes, while the 3‑flute design delivers balanced cutting action and good thread finish.
The M10x1.25 tap features an overall length of 100mm and a working length of 18mm, optimized for medium-depth blind holes in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel (304, 316), aluminum alloys, and cast iron. This longer overall length (compared to standard 83mm) provides extra reach for deeper holes or clearance in fixtures. Although supplied uncoated, TiN or TiAlN coatings can be applied upon request to further reduce friction and extend tool life in abrasive materials.
Typical applications include general machining, automotive components, hydraulic fittings, and machinery parts. Custom options include alternative coatings (CrN, AlCrN), left‑hand flutes, reduced shank diameters, and special thread tolerances (6HX, 4H). For high-volume production, this A23 HSSE tap delivers consistent performance and good cost‑per‑hole value.
Spiral flute taps are ideal for blind holes (chip evacuation upward), while spiral point taps are best for through holes.Read full guide →
