This HSSE (5% cobalt) spiral flute tap conforms to A30 DIN specifications, engineered for reliable threading in medium to heavy-duty applications. The 15° spiral flute design effectively lifts chips out of blind holes, reducing clogging and improving thread quality. The 3‑flute geometry balances chip space and core strength, making it suitable for both CNC lathes and manual tapping machines.
The M14x2.0 tap features an overall length of 110mm and a working length of 25mm, optimized for blind holes in alloy steels (e.g., 4140, 4340), stainless steel (304, 316), aluminum alloys (6061, 7075), and cast iron (GG25). Although supplied uncoated, the HSSE substrate provides good wear resistance; TiN or TiAlN coatings can be added to further reduce friction and enhance heat resistance for high-speed machining.
Common applications include automotive drivetrain components, hydraulic manifolds, heavy equipment parts, and mold bases. Custom options include left‑hand flutes, reduced shank diameters, special thread tolerances (6HX, 4H), and alternative coatings (CrN, AlCrN).
